Bangkok, Thailand – Miss Universe Jamaica 2025, Gabrielle Henry, is recovering in a Bangkok hospital after falling off the stage during the preliminary evening gown competition Wednesday.
The incident occurred as Henry, an ophthalmologist and founder of the See Me Foundation which supports the visually impaired, was walking the runway in an orange gown. Video footage shows her turning to walk back up the stage before falling. She was immediately attended to and carried away on a stretcher.
Miss Universe owner Raul Rocha provided an update on Henry’s condition via Instagram, stating he had just left the hospital after visiting her and her family. “Thankfully, there are no broken bones and she is under good care,” Rocha wrote. “She will remain under observation for the rest of the night and we will remain in touch with her family to support her.”
The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization confirmed in a Facebook post that Henry was transported to Paolo Rangsit Hospital where doctors are conducting tests to ensure her full recovery, stating there are no life-threatening injuries.
The organization requested, “everyone to stay upbeat, lift her in prayer, and send positive thoughts as she receives the necessary medical care. We thank everyone for their outpouring of love, support, and continued prayers.”
Henry is one of 130 contestants vying for the title of Miss Universe, which will be crowned on November 21st in Bangkok. The Miss Universe organization has yet to release a statement regarding the impact of the incident on Henry’s participation in the remainder of the competition.
