LEGO Racing Joins F1 Academy in Groundbreaking Partnership

Las Vegas, NV – The LEGO Group and F1 Academy have announced a multi-year partnership that will see a LEGO Racing entry compete in the all-female racing series starting in 2026. Unveiled ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, the initiative aims to inspire young girls to pursue careers in motorsport and engineering.

The LEGO Racing car, featuring a vibrant yellow, pink, blue, and black livery, will be driven by Dutch racer Esmee Kosterman. LEGO will also release a LEGO set of the car, allowing fans to build their own miniature version and further engage with the sport.

“This collaboration isn’t just about the possibility of building an F1 Academy LEGO car, it’s about building belief in what’s possible,” said Susie Wolff, Managing Director of F1 Academy. “We hope every young girl who picks up these bricks sees more than just a model, she sees herself, her potential, and her place in the world of motorsport.”

Julia Goldin, Chief Product & Marketing Officer of the LEGO Group, echoed this sentiment. “F1 Academy is levelling the playing field in motorsport, giving young female athletes a clear pathway to achieve their dreams in the top tiers of the sport,” she stated. “We hope the infusion of LEGO play and creativity to this exciting sport inspires the next generation of young women in motorsport, as well as the female builders of tomorrow, that anything is possible.”

This partnership builds upon LEGO’s existing involvement with Formula 1, which includes the unveiling of life-size LEGO cars at events like the Miami Grand Prix and the creation of LEGO trophies for the British Grand Prix. The LEGO Racing entry will compete alongside cars backed by Formula 1 teams, further highlighting the growing commitment to diversity and inclusion within the sport.
