LOS ANGELES, CA – Julianne Hough, the “Dancing with the Stars” co-host, is feeling the pull towards motherhood as her brother Derek Hough and his wife Hayley Erbert prepare for the arrival of their first child.
“My ovaries are screaming!” Hough exclaimed on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” expressing her excitement for her brother’s upcoming journey and her own desire to become a mother. “I’m ready to be a mom, and so to be at this stage of my life while he’s having a baby, I’m just seeing it through different eyes.”
Hough, 37, who has been open about her journey with fertility preservation, is eager to support her brother and sister-in-law as “Aunt Juju.” She highlighted that her focus is on finding love first, recognizing it as a necessary step.
In June, Hough shared an Instagram video documenting her third round of egg freezing. She emphasized the importance of open conversations surrounding fertility, especially for those navigating challenges like her own experience with endometriosis. “If sharing just a small piece of my journey helps someone feel less alone, or inspires them to ask questions and explore what’s right for them, then I feel like it’s worth it,” she wrote. Hough has bravely discussed her battle with endometriosis since 2008.
While Hough focuses on her own path to motherhood, she is clearly thrilled for her brother and his wife, anticipating the arrival of a creative and talented child.
