Sat Nov 22 03:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Purdue Overcomes Memphis Scare, Advances to Baha Mar Title Game

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The No. 2 Purdue Boilermakers survived a scare against Memphis on Thursday, ultimately pulling away for an 80-71 victory and advancing to the championship game of the Baha Mar Championship. Despite an uncharacteristically poor shooting performance from star guard Braden Smith, who went 2-for-14 from the field, Purdue rallied in the final minutes to overcome a late Memphis lead.

Trailing by three points with under seven minutes to play, the Boilermakers unleashed a 15-2 run to seize control of the game and secure the win. Smith, despite his shooting struggles, dished out an impressive 11 assists, bringing his career total to 803 and inching him closer to Bobby Hurley’s NCAA record.

Purdue now faces No. 15 Texas Tech in the championship game on Friday at 9:30 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network (check local listings) and streamed on CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports App.

The Boilermakers are currently listed as 3 1/2-point favorites. The matchup pits Smith, the reigning Big Ten Player of the Year, against Texas Tech’s JT Toppin, the reigning Big 12 Player of the Year, promising a compelling showdown. This highly anticipated game is being touted as the best college basketball game of the weekend.
