Gujarat ATS Uncovers Evidence in Alleged Ricin Terror Plot, Recovering Digital Literature and Black Flag

Ahmedabad, India – November 21, 2025 – The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has announced the recovery of crucial evidence in their investigation into an alleged conspiracy to carry out a major terrorist attack using the chemical poison ricin. The announcement comes after the arrest of three individuals – Dr. Ahmed Mohiyuddin Saiyed, Azad Suleman Sheikh, and Mohammad Suhail Khan – on November 9, 2025.

According to ATS officials, digital literature titled “How to Stay Anonymous” was discovered within a social media conversation between suspect Ahmed Saiyed and his handler. The recovery suggests an attempt to conceal the suspects’ activities and identities.

Furthermore, video footage showing Saiyed exiting Hotel Grand Ambience in Ahmedabad on November 7, 2025, has been secured by the ATS. A black flag, believed to be associated with extremist ideologies, was also seized from the Uttar Pradesh residence of Mohammad Suhail Khan. The black flag bore a resemblance to the profile image used by Saiyed on social media.

Authorities claim Saiyed was in the process of preparing ricin poison, and that his handler has ties to the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP).

The arrested individuals are from different states: Saiyed hails from Hyderabad, Telangana, while Sheikh and Khan are residents of Uttar Pradesh. The arrests followed coordinated searches of the suspects’ residences in both states. These searches led to the discovery of two Glock pistols, a Beretta pistol, 30 live cartridges, and four liters of castor oil at Saiyed’s residence in Hyderabad, a key ingredient for creating ricin.

“This evidence further strengthens our case against the accused and highlights the serious threat they posed,” stated a senior ATS official. “Our investigation is ongoing, and we are working diligently to uncover the full extent of this terror plot and bring all those involved to justice.”

The ATS emphasizes that the investigation is ongoing.
