Doha, Qatar – In a thrilling finish to the first semi-final of the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025, Bangladesh A emerged victorious over India A in a Super Over after a tied match. Bangladesh A will now face the winner of the second semi-final between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The match saw both teams tied at 194 runs at the end of their respective 20 overs, leading to a nail-biting Super Over. Surprisingly, India A opted not to send in in-form batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who had earlier scored a quickfire 38 off 15 balls.

In the Super Over, India A struggled to score, losing both wickets of Jitesh Sharma and Ashutosh Sharma without putting any run on the board. Chasing a target of just one run, Bangladesh A also lost a wicket on the first ball, but clinched the victory on the second ball due to a wide delivery.

Following the match, India A captain Jitesh Sharma explained the decision to exclude Suryavanshi from the Super Over lineup. He stated that the team management felt Suryavanshi and Priyansh were better suited for the powerplay, while Ashutosh and Ramandeep possessed the skills required for the death overs. Sharma took responsibility for the loss, adding that this experience will be a learning curve for the young players.

The decision to leave out Suryavanshi was heavily scrutinized. Sharma took responsibility of the desicion, adding that this experience will be a learning curve for the young players.
