Belem, Brazil – November 20, 2025 – India’s Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav has been actively engaged in bilateral discussions with key global leaders at the UN COP30 Climate Summit currently underway in Belem, Brazil. Leading the Indian delegation, Yadav held meetings with ministers from China, Cuba, Germany, Denmark, the EU, and Japan to address critical issues related to climate change and foster international collaboration.

Discussions with China’s Special Envoy for Climate Change, Liu Zhenmin, focused on coordinating efforts among Like-Minded Developing Countries (LMDC) and upholding the integrity of the Paris Agreement. Yadav’s meeting with Cuba’s Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, C. Armando Rodriguez Batista, explored potential partnerships in renewable energy, building on Cuba’s existing membership in the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) and the International Solar Alliance (ISA).

Yadav also met with Japanese Environment Minister Hirotaka Ishihara to discuss the successful implementation of the Joint Credit Mechanism and other areas of cooperation between India and Japan.
