Yadgir MLA Urges Public Awareness on Child Rights and Adoption
YADGIR, November 19, 2025 – MLA Channareddy Patil Tunnur of Yadgir has called on government officials to increase public awareness regarding child rights and the legal adoption process. He made the appeal while inaugurating a program on Child Rights and International Adoption Awareness Month in Yadgir.
The program was a collaborative effort between various government and educational institutions, including the Directorate of Child Protection, the District Child Protection Unit, the District Legal Services Authority, the District Health and Family Welfare Department, the Women and Child Development Department, Nivedita School of Nursing, Oxford School of Nursing, and the Government Degree College.
Tunnur emphasized that eligible individuals can legally adopt children and encouraged officials to actively educate the public on the procedures involved.
Zilla Panchayat CEO Lavish Ordia highlighted existing laws such as the Protection of Child Rights Act, the Child Labour Act, and the Prevention of Child Marriages Act, designed to safeguard children and facilitate legal adoption.
