Mon Nov 17 17:26:59 UTC 2025: ## Bengaluru Autorickshaw Driver Killed in Property Dispute, Wife and Relative Arrested

Bengaluru, India – November 17, 2025, 10:57 PM IST – A 65-year-old autorickshaw driver, identified as Venkatesh, was allegedly murdered by his wife and her relative in Manjunath Layout, Byadarahalli, police reported Monday. The incident stemmed from a long-standing property dispute.

According to authorities, Venkatesh, who married Parvathy six years ago following the death of his first wife, owned a building that became the subject of frequent arguments. Parvathy reportedly demanded the house be bequeathed to her, or alternatively, a payment of ₹5 lakh. When Venkatesh refused, the amount was negotiated down to ₹2.5 lakh, which Parvathy still rejected.

On Sunday night, the conflict escalated, culminating in Venkatesh allegedly throwing Parvathy out of the house and preventing her re-entry. In retaliation, Parvathy reportedly contacted her uncle, Rangaswamy, 60, who arrived and allegedly manhandled Venkatesh. During the altercation, Venkatesh slipped, fell, and sustained a critical head injury. He was immediately transported to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The Byadarahalli police have registered a murder case against both Parvathy and Rangaswamy, and have taken them into custody. The investigation is ongoing.
