Patna, India – November 18, 2025: Rohini Acharya, daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad Yadav, has fiercely defended her decision to donate a kidney to her ailing father several years ago. In a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter), Acharya slammed critics accusing her of giving a “filthy” kidney in exchange for political favors and wealth, following the RJD’s recent poor performance in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.
Acharya vehemently denied the allegations, claiming she has been abused and accused of demanding crores of rupees and a party ticket for the organ donation. She challenged her detractors, including unnamed aides of her brother Tejashwi Yadav, to an open debate on the matter.
She further called upon those who “pretend to show false sympathy” for Lalu Prasad Yadav to donate their own kidneys to the millions of patients in need. Acharya specifically targeted Haryanvi individuals, sycophant journalists, and online trolls who have been critical of her, urging them to lead by example in organ donation.
Acharya also criticized individuals allegedly questioning her decision to donate her kidney without the approval of her husband and in-laws, and for sacrificing her wellbeing and the well-being of her three children.
Acharya previously contested the Lok Sabha elections from Saran last year, losing the election.
The fiery response comes amidst internal tensions within the RJD following the election results. Acharya’s outbursts have also targeted close aides of her brother, Tejashwi Yadav, suggesting a growing rift within the Yadav family.
