Tue Nov 18 00:20:00 UTC 2025: NC State Faces Former Coach’s VCU Team in First-Ever Matchup

Raleigh, N.C. – Fresh off a dominant 110-64 victory over UNC Greensboro, the NC State Wolfpack (3-0) will face VCU (2-1) Monday night at 7:00 p.m. ET in the Lenovo Center. The game will be broadcast on the ACC Network and available for streaming on WatchESPN. NC State is favored by 12.5 points, with an over/under of 165.5 points.

The Wolfpack’s offense has been firing on all cylinders to start the season, averaging a staggering 106 points per game and leading the ACC in scoring, three-pointers per game (15.0), and three-point field goal percentage (44.1%). Preseason ACC Player of the Year, Darrion Williams, has lived up to the hype, averaging 21.7 points, 6 rebounds, and 4.7 assists. Sophomore guard Paul McNeil Jr. is also off to a hot start, contributing 20.3 points per game.

This game marks a notable reunion, as NC State head coach Will Wade previously led VCU from 2015-2017, guiding the Rams to two NCAA Tournament appearances and an overall record of 51-20. Two members of Wade’s current staff also have ties to VCU.

VCU is led by guards Jadarian Tracey and Tyrell Ward, who are averaging 13.3 and 13 points, respectively. The Rams boast a balanced offensive attack with three other players averaging double figures.

This game marks the first-ever meeting between NC State and VCU. NC State holds a commanding 120-30 record against current Atlantic 10 teams, but VCU remains the only A10 team they have never faced. With a win, the Wolfpack would secure their fourth consecutive 4-0 start to a season.
