Telangana CM Seeks Central Government Cooperation for Hyderabad Development
Hyderabad, November 18, 2025 – Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged the Central government to expedite approvals for key development projects in Hyderabad during the Urban Development Ministers’ Regional Meeting held today. Reddy met with Union Urban Development Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to discuss the state’s ambitious plans to transform Hyderabad into a global city.
The Chief Minister requested swift clearance for projects including metro rail expansion, the regional ring road, diversion of Godavari river water, and rejuvenation of the Musi river. He also highlighted the need for central support in deploying 3,000 electric buses to combat pollution in Hyderabad.
Reddy outlined the Telangana government’s vision to contribute significantly to India’s economic growth, aiming for a US $1 trillion economy by 2034 and US $3 trillion by 2047, aligning with Prime Minister Modi’s “Viksit Bharat” goal of a US $30 trillion national economy by 2047.
The government is set to release “TelanganaRising – 2047,” a policy document detailing the roadmap for the state’s development, on December 9th, marking the second anniversary of the Congress government in Telangana. The plans include the development of Bharat Future City as an international hub.
Reddy emphasized Telangana’s ambition to compete with global cities like Singapore, Tokyo, and New York, stressing the importance of Central government cooperation to achieve these targets within a specified timeframe.
