Mon Nov 17 07:34:33 UTC 2025: ## Trump Backs Release of Epstein Files Amid Republican Infighting

Washington D.C. – In a surprising reversal, President Donald Trump has called for the release of remaining Jeffrey Epstein files, urging House Republicans to support a bipartisan effort to force transparency. The move comes amidst growing pressure from both sides of the aisle, with a bill gaining momentum in the House to compel the Justice Department to unseal the records within 30 days.

Trump’s sudden support coincides with a very public feud with key figures in his Republican base, including Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, over the Epstein issue. Greene has been vocal about the need for full transparency regarding Epstein’s associates. Trump, in turn, has distanced himself from Greene, even suggesting he would endorse a primary challenger against her.

The shift also follows the release of emails that have reignited scrutiny of Trump’s past relationship with Epstein. The emails, dating back to 2011 and 2019, include allegations made by Epstein concerning Trump’s knowledge of his activities. The White House has dismissed the release as a politically motivated attempt to damage the President.

Previously, Trump had downplayed the significance of the Epstein case and accused his critics of perpetrating a “hoax” against him, and called on the FBI to investigate Epstein’s links to figures such as Bill Clinton and Larry Summers.

Despite the controversy, Trump now claims there is “nothing to hide” and frames the release as a way to move on from what he calls a “Democrat Hoax.” It remains to be seen whether his endorsement will sway enough Republican votes in the House and whether the bill will successfully pass in the Senate.
