Kashmiri Students Report Harassment Following Red Fort Blast; JKSA Calls for PM’s Intervention

New Delhi – November 17, 2025 – The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) has voiced serious concerns about the safety and well-being of Kashmiri students residing in several northern states following a recent explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort.

Speaking at a press conference today, JKSA National Convenor Nasir Khuehami alleged that Kashmiri students are facing profiling, intimidation, and even eviction threats in the wake of the November 10th car bombing that claimed 13 lives. The association claims that students in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi are being targeted by authorities and local residents alike.

“Kashmiri students believe in India’s democracy,” Khuehami stated. “They are being vilified and harassed. Many landlords have asked Kashmiri tenants to vacate their rooms, forcing several students to return home out of fear.”

The JKSA emphasized that while they have no objection to a thorough investigation of the bombing, they are demanding that the central government ensure the safety and security of Kashmiri students across the country and prevent collective suspicion.

“We request the Prime Minister to make a public statement,” Khuehami urged. “Kashmiris are as much a part of this country as any other citizen.”

The JKSA also condemned the Red Fort blast and called for a fair investigation and strict action against the perpetrators.

In the aftermath of the bombing, law enforcement agencies, including the Delhi Police Special Cell, NIA, and Crime Branch, have launched a multi-agency investigation. According to officials, police have already questioned over 500 individuals from Jammu and Kashmir in Faridabad alone as part of heightened security measures. The NIA is now probing the wider conspiracy after taking over the initial investigation.
