Karnataka Congress Leadership in Limbo: Minister Calls for Clarity from High Command
Bengaluru, India – November 16, 2025 – Karnataka Minister and Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi has publicly called on the party high command to clarify the current uncertainty surrounding the leadership of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC). Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Jarkiholi addressed speculation about his potential appointment as KPCC president, stating that the decision ultimately rests with the party’s central leadership.
“The State has a population of over six crore. It is natural that there are such discussions,” he commented, acknowledging the widespread interest in the leadership issue.
Jarkiholi confirmed his recent trip to Delhi, clarifying that it was related to the appointment of Sunil Hanumannavar as vice-president of the North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC). He also revealed that the party is closely monitoring the developments within the Karnataka Congress.
“They are observing the confusion about leadership in the State. I think it would be good if the top brass clarified this confusion,” he said. He further stated that the decision about the expansion of the Cabinet lies with the high command.
Addressing other matters, Jarkiholi confirmed that Forest Minister Ishwar Khandre had ordered an investigation into the recent deaths of deer at the Kittur Rani Chennamma Zoo.
Finally, commenting on the recent Bihar elections, Jarkiholi expressed disappointment with the outcome, and raised concerns about the transparency of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), calling on the Election Commission of India (ECI) to address these doubts. He maintained, however, that the Bihar election results would not impact the situation in Karnataka.
