Sun Nov 09 19:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Barcelona Face Tricky Vigo Test Before International Break
Vigo, Spain – FC Barcelona face a challenging away fixture against in-form Celta Vigo on Saturday, their final match before the international break. Celta are riding a wave of momentum, having secured five consecutive victories across La Liga, Copa del Rey, and Europa League competitions. Coach Claudio Giráldez’s unpredictable lineups present a further tactical hurdle for the Blaugrana.
Speaking ahead of the match, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick acknowledged the difficulty of the task, stating, “Celta are in a good moment of form, perhaps in a better situation than us. But everything will depend on our attitude. We want to win and go into the break with three points.”
Flick also addressed recent performances, noting a disconnect between the defensive line and forwards. “In Bruges we saw that our defensive line sometimes drops too deep. The forwards are further away than they should be, and we need to be more connected, with and without the ball. We’ve talked about it, and I hope we can improve,” he said.
The coach confirmed that Joan García remains sidelined with an injury, but is expected to return after the international break. Defender Jules Koundé is also a major doubt after failing to complete the final training session.
Flick also expressed his appreciation for the support from club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco, as well as his enthusiasm following the well-attended open training session at the Spotify Camp Nou. He hopes a return to Camp Nou will soon help the team.
“The first impression was fantastic. You could feel the history of the stadium… once we’re able to play there, it will definitely help us,” Flick stated. “For the club’s future, it’s very important, I congratulate everyone who has worked on it.”
The match against Celta Vigo promises to be a stern test for Barcelona as they look to maintain their momentum before the break.
