Daboll’s Job on Thin Ice as Giants Struggle, Near Firing Revealed
NEW YORK, NY – November 9, 2025 – The New York Giants’ season continues to spiral, and head coach Brian Daboll’s job security is increasingly uncertain. While the emergence of rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart provides a glimmer of hope, the team’s dismal 2-7 record, a three-game losing streak, and season-ending injuries to key offensive players Cam Skattebo and Malik Nabers have intensified the pressure on Daboll.
Speculation surrounding Daboll’s future has been rampant, with many believing that a third consecutive losing season could spell the end for the former AP NFL Coach of the Year. Shockingly, WFAN 660’s Shaun Morash reported that Giants owner John Mara nearly fired Daboll three weeks ago after the team’s stunning collapse against the Denver Broncos, where they surrendered a 26-8 lead in the fourth quarter.
“I’ve now gotten this from multiple people I trust — the Giants were firing Brian Daboll off the plane after the collapse in Denver,” Morash said. “He was fired. Ownership got together, cooler heads prevailed, and they decided not to fire Brian Daboll off the plane in Denver. But in the immediacy of that collapse, enough apparently was enough for people of importance on the Giants.”
While Daboll has seemingly survived that immediate threat, the coach is firmly on the hot seat. During a recent press conference, Daboll addressed the swirling rumors, stating, “There are a lot of reports out there. So, I don’t think you focus on those, you focus on the things you can control.”
Mara’s desire for stability within the franchise may grant Daboll some temporary reprieve. However, the pressure to turn the Giants’ fortunes around is mounting, and the remaining games will be crucial in determining Daboll’s long-term future with the team.
