McCaffrey’s Record-Breaking Performance Overshadowed by Giants’ Belton Fine

San Francisco, CA – November 9, 2025 – Christian McCaffrey etched his name further into NFL history during the San Francisco 49ers’ 34-24 victory over the New York Giants in Week 10, but the win was somewhat marred by a post-game fine levied against Giants defensive back Dane Belton.

McCaffrey amassed a dominant performance, racking up 106 rushing yards and a touchdown on 28 carries, along with 67 receiving yards and another touchdown on five receptions. This marked his 16th career game with both a rushing and receiving touchdown, surpassing Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk for the most in NFL history. The 49ers improved to 6-3 with the victory.

However, a play in which Belton tripped McCaffrey during the game has resulted in the NFL fining the Giants player $7,201. Belton, in the final year of his rookie contract, was penalized on the play during the game.

Looking ahead, Belton and the Giants will face a surging Chicago Bears offense, while McCaffrey and the 49ers prepare to battle the Los Angeles Rams.
