Los Angeles, CA – The Los Angeles Chargers announced a flurry of roster moves today, highlighted by the activation of key players from the Reserve/Injured list and several practice squad elevations for Sunday’s game.
Long snapper Josh Harris, defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand, and defensive back Deane Leonard have all been activated from Reserve/Injured; Designated for Return. Harris, a 2021 Pro Bowler and veteran of 216 games, returns to anchor the Chargers’ special teams unit, providing stability for kicker Cameron Dicker and punter JK Scott. Hand, an eighth-year veteran, brings experience to the defensive line, having started five games for the Bolts this season. Leonard, a 2022 draft pick, has been a valuable contributor on defense and special teams.
To further bolster the running back depth, Jaret Patterson and Trayveon Williams have been elevated from the practice squad for Sunday’s contest. Patterson has seen action in the last two games, while Williams, a former sixth-round pick, brings special teams experience to the team.
These moves come amidst a busy week of transactions for the Chargers, including the acquisition of offensive lineman Trevor Penning from the Saints and outside linebacker Odafe Oweh from the Ravens, as well as a series of signings and placements on Reserve/Injured. The Chargers are looking to solidify their roster and make a strong push as the season progresses.
