The project, valued at ₹32.50 crore, directly addresses the long-standing needs of the village’s 1,500 fishers.

“This harbor will provide much-needed safe berthing and protection for the village’s 213 fishing boats, especially during monsoon season,” stated Minister Poyyamozhi at the ceremony. The harbor will include a north breakwater (70m), south breakwater (385m), a 100m jetty, a fish-landing platform, a net-mending shed and nearly 25,000 cubic meters of reclamation and related works.
