Sat Nov 08 03:40:00 UTC 2025: Peloton Recalls 833,000 Bike+ Models Over Seat Post Breakage Concerns
NEW YORK – Peloton is voluntarily recalling approximately 833,000 of its Original Series Bike+ models due to a risk of seat posts breaking during use, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The company has received reports of the seat post detaching from the bike, including two incidents resulting in injuries from falls.
The recall affects Bike+ models with model number PL02, sold in the U.S. and Canada between December 2019 and July 2022. The impacted bikes have serial numbers starting with the letter “T.”
Peloton is urging customers with affected bikes to immediately stop using them and contact the company for a free replacement seat post. The new seat post can be self-installed, and Peloton has provided a video tutorial for guidance.
While owners await their replacement part, NBC Select offers alternative stationary bikes and fitness accessories. The recalled bikes are an older model, and Peloton has launched an entirely new product lineup called the Cross Training Series in October, which includes a new Peloton Bike+, Peloton Tread+ and Peloton Row+, none of which are part of the recall.
Consumers can find more information and request a replacement seat post on the Peloton website.
