PHILADELPHIA – After weeks of scrutiny and inconsistent play, the Philadelphia Eagles (6-2) are silencing their critics with a commanding 38-20 victory over the New York Giants. The win, a stark contrast to their Week 6 34-17 loss to the Giants, marks a potential turning point for the defending Super Bowl champions.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts led the charge, throwing four touchdown passes. However, the true story of the game was the resurgence of running back Saquon Barkley, who torched his former team for 150 yards and a touchdown, including a 65-yard scoring run on the second play of the game. It was his first 100-yard rushing performance of the season after a slow start that had raised concerns about the reigning Offensive Player of the Year. Tank Bigsby also added over 100 yards rushing, totaling 276 yards for the team on the ground.

The Eagles offense, which had struggled to find its rhythm under new offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, has exploded in recent weeks, averaging 33 points per game in wins against the Minnesota Vikings and Giants. The resurgence coincides with improved offensive line health, allowing the Eagles to establish both the run and the pass effectively. In Week 7, Hurts threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns against the Vikings, while his wide receivers, DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, both had 100+ yard performances.

Despite a 4-0 start to the season, the Eagles faced adversity with a Week 5 loss to the Denver Broncos and a subsequent Week 6 defeat against the Giants. However, a Week 7 win against the Vikings, coupled with this week’s dominant performance, has the team heading into their Week 9 bye week with renewed confidence.

Looking ahead, the Eagles face a challenging stretch against the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions, and Dallas Cowboys. However, with a healthy roster and a revitalized offense, the Eagles are hoping to gear up for a potential Super Bowl repeat.
