Tue Nov 04 02:20:00 UTC 2025: Davis-Paul Fight in Jeopardy Following Allegations of Strip Club Attack
Miami, FL – The highly anticipated exhibition boxing match between Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Jake Paul, slated for November 14th in Miami, is now hanging in the balance following allegations that Davis assaulted a woman at a Miami Gardens strip club on October 27th.
A civil lawsuit was filed Friday in Miami-Dade County by the alleged victim, and the Miami Gardens Police Department has confirmed they are actively investigating the incident. According to the woman’s attorney, Richard C. Wolfe, the woman filed charges against Davis before the civil lawsuit was filed. Jeff Chukwuma, the second attorney representing the woman, claims video footage of the incident exists at Tootsie’s Cabaret, where the woman was working as a VIP cocktail waitress. Police are reportedly in the process of subpoenaing the video and gathering witness statements.
Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), the company co-promoting the fight with Netflix, issued a statement saying they are “gathering information and reviewing the details to ensure any decision we make is thoroughly vetted.” MVP also stated they will handle the matter with diligence and respect for all involved.
The allegations against Davis compound his already troubled legal history. The boxer is currently on probation for a 2023 hit-and-run conviction. He was also arrested in July for alleged domestic violence against an ex-girlfriend. Notably, Paul has publicly condemned Davis’s past behavior towards women.
Adding to the uncertainty, speculation arose about a possible replacement fighter for Davis. Oscar De La Hoya, promoter for Ryan Garcia, has definitively ruled out Garcia as a replacement, citing contractual obligations to DAZN. De La Hoya anticipated Garcia may protest this decision, but emphasized the need to adhere to contractual agreements.
The future of the Davis-Paul fight remains unclear as the investigation unfolds and MVP assesses the situation. The allegations against Davis, coupled with his existing legal troubles, cast a shadow over the event and raise serious questions about his participation.
