Ahmedabad, India – November 4, 2025 – Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has assured farmers that the state government stands with them after unseasonal rains caused widespread crop damage across the region. The downpours, which began in the last week of October, have impacted more than 16,000 villages across 249 talukas.

Chief Minister Patel, along with Ministers Arjun Modhwadia, Dr. Pradyuman Vaja, and Minister of State Shri Kaushik Vekariya, visited affected villages in Gir-Somnath and Junagadh districts on Monday to assess the damage firsthand and speak directly with farmers. Other state ministers, including Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani, and Tribal Development Minister Naresh Patel, have also toured rain-affected areas to review the situation.

“The state government stands with the farmers and will support them through this period,” stated Chief Minister Patel during his visit. He announced that a comprehensive relief package would be unveiled shortly, following the completion of ongoing survey work to evaluate the extent of the damage.
