Two More Charged in $102 Million Louvre Jewel Heist as Investigation Continues
Paris, France – November 2, 2025 – The investigation into the daring $102 million jewel heist at the Louvre Museum has taken a new turn with the formal investigation of a man and a woman, bringing the total number of suspects charged to four, according to the Paris prosecutor.
The 37-year-old man, already known to police for previous thefts, is charged with organized theft and criminal conspiracy. A 38-year-old woman faces charges of complicity in organized theft and criminal conspiracy. Both suspects, arrested on October 29th, deny any involvement. Three other individuals detained alongside them were released without charge.
French media reports indicate the woman is from La Courneuve, a suburb north of Paris.
The prosecutor revealed last week that the initial two suspects charged had “partially admitted” their involvement. These include a 34-year-old Algerian resident and a 39-year-old already under judicial supervision for aggravated theft. Both reside in Aubervilliers, another low-income Parisian neighborhood.
Despite the arrests, the stolen jewels remain missing. The audacious robbery, which occurred two weeks ago, involved two hooded thieves using a movers’ lift to access a second-floor window. They smashed display cases with power tools and escaped on scooters driven by accomplices.
The heist has raised serious questions about security protocols at the world’s most-visited museum, prompting a global review of security measures at cultural institutions. Investigations are ongoing.
