Shah, speaking in Sheohar and Sitamarhi, expressed confidence in an NDA victory and a resounding defeat for the RJD-Congress alliance in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
Central to Shah’s promises was the establishment of a defence corridor within Bihar, coupled with the construction of factories in every district, alongside MSME and industrial parks. He envisioned a future where military explosives produced in Bihar would be deployed in operations against Pakistan.
Addressing Bihar’s perennial flood problem, Shah pledged the formation of a dedicated commission to find lasting solutions and make Bihar flood-free. He also announced plans to harness the Koshi river to irrigate 50,000 hectares in the Mithilanchal region.
Infrastructure development was another key focus, with Shah promising the launch of the Vande Bharat train from Sitamarhi to Ayodhya, the development of Mithilanchal as a global knowledge center with an investment of ₹500 crore, the construction of the Sitamarhi-Ayodhya Ramjanaki Path at a cost of ₹550 crore, and a ₹5,000 crore investment in doubling the Ayodhya-Sitamarhi rail track. He also pledged to upgrade the Patna, Darbhanga, Purnea, and Bhagalpur airports to global standards and establish a medical college in each district.
Taking a swipe at the previous RJD-Congress administration, Shah highlighted the stark difference in financial support to Bihar under the Modi government – ₹18.70 lakh crore compared to ₹2.80 lakh crore. He emphasized the need for a Nitish Kumar-Narendra Modi partnership to ensure a developed Bihar, criticizing the past for being marred by scams.
