“Baahubali: The Epic” Roars Back to Theaters, Shatters Re-Release Records with ₹10.4 Crore Opening Day
Mumbai, India – SS Rajamouli’s epic saga, “Baahubali,” has once again captivated audiences with the re-release of “Baahubali: The Beginning” and “Baahubali: The Conclusion” as a single, remastered film titled “Baahubali: The Epic.” Released on October 31, 2025, the film has smashed box office records for re-releases, garnering an impressive ₹10.4 crore on its opening day in India alone, according to Sacnilk.
“Baahubali: The Epic” has exceeded expectations, surpassing the opening day collections of previous re-releases such as Vijay’s “Ghilli” and Mahesh Babu’s “Khaleja,” as well as recent blockbusters like “Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra” and “Dragon”.
This re-edited version of the magnum opus, backed by Arka Media Works, condenses the two films into a 3-hour and 45-minute experience, with some sequences trimmed for pacing. Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, and Tamannaah Bhatia, the film retells the iconic story of Mahishmati, power struggles, and the legendary Amarendra Baahubali.
The re-release is a global phenomenon, playing in over 1,150 cinemas worldwide, including more than 400 screens in the US, 210 in the UK and Ireland, and numerous venues in the UAE, Australia, and Southeast Asia.
CV Rao, CTO of Annapurna Studios, who spearheaded the transformation of the two films, told Hindustan Times that the project took approximately two months to complete, with the biggest challenge being delivering the output in multiple formats.
