Jennifer Lawrence Opens Up About Paparazzi Strategy, Postpartum Anxiety
NEW YORK, NY – In a candid new interview with The New Yorker, actress Jennifer Lawrence revealed her strategy for dealing with paparazzi after the birth of her two children with husband Cooke Maroney. The “Die My Love” star, 35, admitted she made herself an “easy target” for photographers stationed outside her home, a conscious decision to minimize the stress and anxiety her children might sense if she tried to evade them.
“It’s better than the cat-and-mouse thing,” Lawrence explained, stating her belief that her children would pick up on her nervous energy during attempts to avoid photographers.
Beyond paparazzi, Lawrence also bravely discussed her experience with postpartum anxiety following the birth of her second child. The actress, who has not publicly revealed the name or birth date of her youngest son, described intense anxieties, including a fear that her son had died while sleeping and a belief that she was failing as a mother.
Lawrence revealed she sought help through medication, utilizing Zurzuvae, a recently approved treatment for postpartum depression. She also shared a vulnerable moment where she turned to ChatGPT for reassurance while breastfeeding.
Lawrence and Maroney, who married in 2019, are also parents to 3-year-old son Cy. A source previously told PEOPLE Magazine that the couple is adjusting well to life as a family of four.
