Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav said he would have preferred to bat first, anticipating a slow surface later in the game. Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the first three T20s due to a neck strain, adding to the team’s challenges.

Historically, India holds a strong record against Australia in T20s, winning 20 out of 32 matches. In Australia, India has won 7 out of 12 T20 encounters. India has not lost a T20 series in Australia since 2008.
