Wed Oct 29 10:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Sean “Diddy” Combs Set for 2028 Prison Release After Prostitution Conviction
NEW YORK CITY – Sean “Diddy” Combs will be released from prison on May 8, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons database. The date was revealed following the rapper’s sentencing earlier this month for his conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
On October 3rd, U.S. District Court Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Combs to 50 months, approximately four years, in prison. The sentencing followed a two-month trial where prosecutors argued Combs operated a criminal enterprise and engaged in sex trafficking. While acquitted on the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, the jury found him guilty on the prostitution charges.
Prosecutors had sought an 11-year sentence, while Combs’ legal team argued for a 14-month term. Combs, who is currently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, has pleaded not guilty and is appealing his conviction. His legal team filed a notice of appeal on October 20th after a previous attempt to have the conviction overturned or a new trial granted was unsuccessful.
Prior to his sentencing, Combs expressed remorse in a letter to the judge. “I apologize for all of the hurt and pain that I have caused others by my conduct and said he takes full responsibility and accountability for my past wrongs,” he wrote. He also apologized in court to his ex-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura Fine, for the abuse she alleged during her testimony.
Rumors of a potential commutation of Combs’ sentence by former President Donald Trump circulated last week. However, a White House spokesperson refuted the claims, stating, “The president, not anonymous sources, is the final decider on pardons and commutations.” Trump confirmed earlier in the month that Combs had requested a pardon.
The case has drawn significant attention and involved extensive legal proceedings. The legal team is continuing their efforts to appeal the conviction.
