NEW YORK – October 28, 2025, 5:49 PM IST – A 28-year-old Indian national, Praneeth Kumar Usiripalli, has been arrested and charged with assault after allegedly attacking passengers on a Lufthansa flight from Chicago to Germany. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, October 25, 2025, forced the flight to divert to Boston Logan International Airport.
According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, Usiripalli allegedly stabbed two 17-year-old male passengers with a metal fork following the meal service. One teen was stabbed in the shoulder, while the other sustained a laceration to the back of the head.
