Mon Oct 27 07:30:11 UTC 2025: ## Love Shines as Packers Topple Steelers in Rodgers’ Return
PITTSBURGH, PA – Jordan Love delivered a statement performance on Sunday night, throwing for 360 yards and three touchdowns as the Green Bay Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 35-25. The game marked the first time Love faced off against his former mentor, Aaron Rodgers, since Rodgers’ departure from Green Bay after 18 seasons.
Love, who spent three seasons as Rodgers’ understudy, outplayed the veteran quarterback, showcasing poise and accuracy. He completed 29 of 37 passes, achieving a franchise-tying record of 20 consecutive completions, matching Brett Favre’s 2007 feat.
While Rodgers completed 24 of 36 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns, it wasn’t enough to overcome the Packers’ offensive surge. Chris Boswell’s four field goals, including three over 50 yards, provided the bulk of the Steelers’ scoring.
The Packers dominated the fourth quarter, scoring 21 unanswered points. Josh Jacobs’ 3-yard touchdown run kicked off the scoring spree, followed by a successful two-point conversion. Love then connected with Tucker Kraft for a 24-yard touchdown, extending the lead. Brandon McManus added two late field goals to seal the victory.
Kraft had a standout performance, recording career highs with seven receptions and 143 yards, including two touchdown catches. Savion Williams also contributed a touchdown reception for the Packers.
A concerning moment occurred in the third quarter when Steelers safety DeShon Elliott suffered a left knee injury and was carted off the field.
Despite the competitive atmosphere, the game concluded with a display of respect. After the final kneeldown, Rodgers sought out Love for a congratulatory hug. Packers coach Matt LaFleur also shared a hug with the veteran quarterback.
The Packers improved to 5-1-1 with the victory, while the Steelers fell to 4-3.
