Sun Oct 26 08:50:00 UTC 2025: India and Bangladesh Women’s Cricket World Cup Match Delayed by Rain

Navi Mumbai, India – The highly anticipated ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 match between India and Bangladesh at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai has been significantly delayed due to persistent rain. The match, the 28th and final league stage game, was initially scheduled to begin at 2:30 PM local time, but the toss was delayed, and the start time pushed back repeatedly due to intermittent showers.

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to bowl first, and Uma Chetry is making her debut for India. However, shortly after the toss, the rain returned, forcing ground staff to cover the pitch again. The match was eventually reduced to 43 overs per side with a 9-over powerplay.

Bangladesh, after losing an early wicket to Renuka Thakur, struggled to gain momentum and were 39/2 in 12.2 overs before rain interrupted play again. Deepti Sharma claimed the second wicket.

Despite the interruptions, India is using this match as a crucial practice before their semi-final clash against Australia on October 30th. With their semi-final spot already secured, this game provides an opportunity for India to fine-tune their strategy and boost team morale.
