Vance Slams Psaki’s “Disgraceful” Remarks About Second Lady Usha Vance

ISRAEL – Vice President JD Vance has strongly condemned comments made by former White House press secretary Jen Psaki regarding his wife, Second Lady Usha Vance. Speaking to reporters in Israel on Thursday, Vance labeled Psaki’s remarks as “disgraceful” and asserted that his wife is capable of speaking for herself.

The controversy stems from an appearance by Psaki on the “I’ve Had It” podcast, where she joked about Usha Vance, suggesting she was scared of her husband and needed to “blink four times” if she needed rescuing. Psaki also characterized Vice President Vance as a “chameleon” and suggested he was more ambitious and potentially more dangerous than former President Donald Trump.

“I think it’s disgraceful, but of course the second lady can speak for herself,” Vance told reporters. He also expressed his gratitude for his wife’s support, saying he was “very lucky to have a wonderful wife” and “honored to have her by his side” during his trip to Israel.

Psaki’s comments have drawn widespread criticism, with Trump’s communications director, Steven Cheung, accusing her of projecting her own personal issues. Fox News contributor Joe Concha went further, stating that Psaki is “not a good person. At all.”

Usha Vance, a Yale Law School graduate, is an experienced litigator who clerked for Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and then-Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Vice President Vance has previously described her as his “Yale spirit guide.”

The Vances have three children: two sons, Ewan and Vivek, and a daughter, Mirabel.
