WARANGAL, October 24, 2025 (The Hindu) – The annual technical festival, Technozion 2025, commenced at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Warangal today, drawing an impressive crowd of approximately 7,000 students. The two-day event promises a dynamic showcase of engineering talent and innovation.
The opening day was highlighted by a keynote address from Professor G. Madhavi Latha, a distinguished alumna of NIT Warangal and a professor at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore. Professor Latha, a key figure in the design of the world’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab River, shared her invaluable experiences and insights with the students. She emphasized the adaptive nature of engineering, noting how the bridge design was continuously refined during construction to accommodate the evolving geological and geotechnical conditions encountered at the site. While the core concept remained intact, she explained, crucial parameters were adjusted to optimize the structure’s performance.
Technozion 2025 features a diverse range of activities, including 23 events organized by major student clubs and 31 events hosted by departmental societies. A total prize pool of ₹2 lakh is up for grabs. The first day saw enthusiastic participation in various competitions, workshops, and expert talks, focusing on both practical engineering skills and analytical problem-solving.
The festival is expected to continue tomorrow with further demonstrations of innovation and collaboration, solidifying its position as a premier event for aspiring engineers in India.
