‘Elsbeth’ Season 3 Brings Quirky Crime-Solving and Star-Studded Cameos to CBS
NEW YORK, NY – October 27, 2025 – The delightfully offbeat attorney Elsbeth Tascioni is back on the case! Carrie Preston returns as the titular character in Season 3 of CBS’s comedic police procedural “Elsbeth,” which airs weekly on Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. CT. The series premiered on Sunday, Oct. 12, but quickly resumed it’s Thursday schedule on October 16. New episodes stream on Paramount+ the following day.
Alongside Preston, Wendell Pierce continues his role as NYPD Captain Charles Wallace Wagner. Carra Patterson will return as a guest star in her role as NYPD Officer Kaya Blanke.
This season promises even more of Elsbeth’s unique brand of intuition and observation as she assists the NYPD in solving perplexing crimes, including a hostage situation at a toy store.
Season 3 of “Elsbeth” is also packed with celebrity cameos. Stephen Colbert stars as Scotty Bristol, the host of the fictional late-night show “Way Late with Scotty Bristol” while this season will include performances by Andy Richter, Annaleigh Ashford, Julia Fox, William Jackson Harper, Amy Sedaris, Lindsay Mendez and Sarah Steele. The premiere episode offered a sneak peek into the behind-the-scenes drama of Colbert’s fictional talk show.
Showrunner Jonathan Tolins teased “risks with the format” this season, telling Deadline, “We continue to attract incredible guest stars and we’re finding more fascinating slices of the culture to explore… especially with Carrie Preston’s incredible performance leading the way — can handle everything we throw at it.”
Confirmed episodes will run until at least January 1, with a special holiday-themed episode set to air on December 18, where Elsbeth investigates a deadly incident during a ballet rehearsal of “The Nutcracker.”
“Elsbeth,” a spin-off of “The Good Fight” and “The Good Wife,” has already captivated audiences with its charming characters, clever writing, and fresh take on the police procedural format.
