Kim Kardashian Defends Daughter North West’s Style Choices Amidst Criticism

LOS ANGELES, CA – Kim Kardashian has publicly defended her 12-year-old daughter, North West, against criticism leveled at the pre-teen’s fashion choices. In a recent appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast with Alex Cooper, Kardashian discussed the challenges of raising a child in the public eye and North’s burgeoning personal style.

Kardashian acknowledged the scrutiny North faces, stating, “It’s really hard and it’s really interesting because all the kids are wearing the same things. But then my daughter tries to wear it and then I’m like, ‘okay, we’re never wearing that again.’ Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world.”

The defense comes after online backlash this summer when North was photographed wearing a black corset and mini-skirt while on vacation in Rome. Social media users voiced concerns, with some stating, “Not a fan of a bustier on a 12-year-old” and urging Kardashian to “preserve her innocence.”

Kardashian stood firm in her support for her daughter’s self-expression. “As a mom, you’re kind of learning at the same time. But what I do know is my baby’s such a good girl and such a sweet girl,” she shared. She added that while North listens to her guidance, she also encourages her creativity, saying, “Babe, if you want blue hair, it is what it is… You know, it makes her so happy. I would never take that creativity away from her.”

Recognizing the pressures of single parenting, Kardashian concluded, “I just think anyone that’s raising kids, especially four kids by myself, I’m doing the best that I can.” She further appealed for understanding, stating, “I think like any mom of a teenager or a preteen, unless you’ve been here, please, we just need a little bit of grace.”

North West has long been considered a style icon in the making, following in her mother’s fashionable footsteps. Kardashian’s recent comments highlight the struggle of navigating the balance between parental guidance and allowing children to express their individuality, especially under the intense glare of the public eye.
