MAZATLÁN – Mazatlán FC is gearing up for a critical week as they host Santos Laguna and Club América in a double-header at Estadio El Encanto. With their sights set on securing a Play-In spot, the “Cañoneros” are under pressure to deliver positive results for their fans.
Midfielder Roberto Meraz emphasized the team’s determination to capitalize on their home advantage, despite the quick turnaround between matches. “The pressure is always there, especially after a negative result,” Meraz stated. “We have very few days to work, but each of us must be aware of what we are playing for. We will face these games with the desire to fight for every point until the last moment.”
Meraz acknowledged recent controversial refereeing decisions, urging the team to maintain focus and minimize errors. He also appealed to the fans for their continued support. “We need the fans to trust us. We will fight until the end to bring a Play-In to Mazatlán and give them the joy they deserve.”
Meanwhile, forward Yoel Bárcenas stressed the importance of focusing solely on their upcoming match against Santos Laguna before even considering the América clash. “We are preparing for a long week with a lot of work and planning. We can’t think about América yet; that would be disrespectful to Santos Laguna. We are focused on Santos,” Bárcenas said.
Bárcenas promised a combative and determined team eager to secure victories in both home games. “We will present a team that will fight, run, and give everything to win both matches, starting with Santos.”
