Trump Threatens “Fast, Furious, and Brutal” End for Hamas if Ceasefire Fails; Claims Allies Willing to Intervene
Washington D.C. – Amidst a fragile ceasefire in Gaza, US President Donald Trump issued a stern warning to Hamas, stating that the Palestinian group could face a “fast, furious, and brutal” end if it violates the agreement. In a Truth Social post on Tuesday, Trump claimed that numerous allies in the Middle East and surrounding areas have expressed enthusiasm in sending forces into Gaza at his request to “straighten out Hamas” should they continue to act against the agreement.
Trump did not specify which countries made these offers, but he did thank Indonesia for its assistance in the region, while clarifying that he has told these countries and Israel “NOT YET!” as there is still hope for Hamas to do what is right.
“If they do not, an end to Hamas will be FAST, FURIOUS, & BRUTAL!” Trump said.
The President’s statement comes as the ceasefire, brokered with his administration’s assistance, faces significant challenges. Since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, Israel has killed nearly 100 Palestinians, and aid deliveries to Gaza remain significantly below the promised levels. According to the Gaza Government Media Office, only 986 aid trucks have entered the enclave since the start of the ceasefire, far short of the 6,600 expected.
Over the past two years, Israel has killed most of Hamas’s political and military leaders, while also levelling Gaza to the ground and imposing famine on the territory in a campaign that leading rights groups and United Nations investigators say is a genocide.
The agreement was further strained when Israel launched air strikes on Sunday, killing dozens of Palestinians and suspending aid deliveries after two Israeli soldiers were killed in Rafah. While Israel blamed Hamas, the group denied involvement, claiming the incident occurred in an area under Israeli control. Some US media outlets reported that the Israeli soldiers were killed after they drove over an unexploded ordnance.
Questions regarding Gaza’s long-term future and governance persist. Trump has insisted on Hamas’s disarmament, but the group has tied this to the establishment of a Palestinian state. On Sunday, Trump told Fox News that there is no hard timeline for Hamas disarmament. Later that day, his vice president, JD Vance, who is currently visiting Israel, suggested that an international force needs to deploy to Gaza and establish “security infrastructure” before Hamas disarms.
