KOCHI, India – Following its surprising success in theaters, the Malayalam superhero film “Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra” is finally heading to OTT. JioHotstar recently announced that it will be streaming the film, confirming previous reports.
While a specific release date hasn’t been revealed, sources suggest the film will be available between October 17th and 20th, coinciding with the Diwali festive week. JioHotstar has teased the release with a post stating, “The beginning of a new universe. Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra — coming soon.”
The announcement comes after actor and producer Dulquer Salmaan cautioned fans against believing earlier rumors of an imminent OTT release.
“Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra,” written and directed by Dominic Arun and produced by Salmaan, stars Kalyani Priyadarshan as Chandra, who gets entangled in an organ trafficking scheme after mysteriously arriving in Bangalore. The film also features Naslen, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian, and Chandu Salim Kumar, with cameos from Salmaan and Tovino Thomas.
JioHotstar’s teaser suggests the film will be available in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, and the original Malayalam. Viewers will be able to stream the film on various devices, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, and smart TVs.
