Mon Oct 20 11:10:00 UTC 2025: Snoop Dogg Teams Up with GLAAD for LGBTQ Youth Support, Releases Song with ‘The Voice’ Contestant
Los Angeles, CA – Rapper Snoop Dogg, who previously faced criticism for his reaction to a same-sex couple in Disney’s “Lightyear,” has partnered with GLAAD to support Spirit Day, an annual initiative promoting support for LGBTQ youth.
Snoop is demonstrating his commitment by wearing purple and engaging in a conversation with Jeremy Beloate, an openly LGBTQ contestant from “The Voice” who was on Snoop’s team. The pair discussed their friendship, new music, and Beloate’s experiences with bullying.
Taking his support further, Snoop collaborated with Beloate on a song titled “Love is Love,” featured in an episode of Snoop’s children’s animated series, “Doggyland.” Beloate voices a puppy character who sings about love alongside same-sex families. Snoop stated that the song is intended to teach kids about different types of families and make them understand that love is the key.
Beloate, who signed with Death Row Records after competing on “The Voice,” recently released his debut single, “Show Me (How Fast You Can Break My Heart).”
The collaboration comes after Snoop’s earlier comments on the “It’s Giving” podcast, where he described his surprise at a same-sex relationship depicted in “Lightyear” and the questions it raised from his grandchildren. The comments sparked controversy and led to calls for accountability from LGBTQ advocates.
