**Washington D.C.** – A high-level Ukrainian delegation, led by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, has arrived in Washington D.C. for crucial talks aimed at bolstering Ukraine’s defence capabilities and securing its energy infrastructure as Russia intensifies attacks targeting the nation’s power grid. The visit precedes a planned meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and U.S. President Donald Trump scheduled for Friday at the White House.
The delegation’s mission comes as Ukraine faces escalating Russian strikes on its energy infrastructure, resulting in widespread power outages across several regions. Ukraine’s Energy Ministry has already implemented emergency power cuts to alleviate pressure on the damaged grid. The prospect of Washington supplying Ukraine with advanced weaponry has drawn strong condemnation from Moscow. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov warned of “serious consequences,” while Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev suggested such a move could “end badly” for Trump.
