Mon Oct 13 18:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Leo Borg Praises Father Björn Borg’s Honesty About Cocaine Use

**Stockholm, Sweden -** As Leo Borg prepares to compete in the Nordic Open, the young tennis player is also dealing with the increased attention surrounding his father, tennis legend Björn Borg, and the recent release of his autobiography, “Hjärtslag” (Heartbeats). In the book, and in subsequent interviews, the elder Borg revealed details about his struggles with cocaine abuse following his retirement from professional tennis.

“I haven’t read the entire book, but large parts of it, and there are some heavy aspects,” said Leo Borg, 22, to SVT Sport. “My father writes about difficult periods in his life. It’s tough to hear, because it’s my father.”

Björn Borg, who kept his struggles private for years, decided to share his story in order to find liberation. His son expressed immense pride in his father’s bravery. “It’s heartbreaking. No one should have to feel that bad,” Leo said. “He has been strong to be able to get out of those periods. I am very proud of him. It is not easy to write about everything, it has been within him for a very long time. So I am proud that he gets it out and wants to tell his story.”

Leo Borg will face Austria’s Sebastian Ofner, ranked 138th in the world, in the first round of the Nordic Open, which begins Monday, October 13th, and will be broadcast by SVT.
