Sun Oct 12 08:50:00 UTC 2025: **India Sets Sizable Target for Australia in Women’s ODI World Cup Clash**

**Visakhapatnam, India – October 12, 2025** – India has set a formidable target of 331 runs for Australia in their crucial ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 match at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

After Australian captain Alyssa Healy won the toss and elected to bowl, the Indian batting lineup delivered a strong performance, led by impressive half-centuries from Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal. Mandhana, who had been relatively quiet in the tournament thus far, struck a fluent 80 off 85 balls, including nine boundaries and three sixes, while Rawal contributed a solid 75. Valuable contributions from Richa Ghosh (32) helped India reach their final score.

The Indian innings saw wickets fall at regular intervals in the later stages, however, India was able to push past the 300 mark.

India came into the match with momentum from earlier victories against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, but they were looking to bounce back from a recent defeat to South Africa. Defending champions Australia had secured wins against New Zealand and Pakistan, but their match against Sri Lanka was washed out.

Australia made one change to their lineup, bringing in all-rounder Sophie Molineux in place of Georgia Wareham. India opted to stick with the same playing XI that faced South Africa.
