**Chicago, IL – October 12, 2025** – Jacob Kiplimo of Uganda and Hawi Feysa of Ethiopia emerged victorious at the 47th Chicago Marathon on Sunday. Kiplimo, in only his second marathon, surged to victory with a time of 2:02:23, improving upon his debut second-place finish in London. Conner Mantz of the United States took fourth place, clocking a time of 2:04:43, pending ratification, which could break the North American and U.S. national records previously set by Khalid Khannouchi in 2002.
Megertu Alemu, also of Ethiopia, secured second place in the women’s elite race with a time of 2:17:18, while Tanzania’s Magdalena Shauri finished third in 2:18:03.
