Sat Oct 11 11:49:53 UTC 2025: **Gaza Ceasefire Doesn’t End Siege, Activist Says, Freedom Flotillas Still Needed**

**Gaza City -** While a ceasefire has been declared in Gaza, and international media outlets focus on a US-brokered “peace plan,” the reality on the ground remains unchanged for Palestinians living under an 18-year siege, according to Sara, a Gaza resident. Despite the cessation of airstrikes, Israel continues to control Gaza’s air, land, and sea, restricting the movement of people and supplies, and dictating what enters the territory.

Sara criticized the so-called “peace plan” for failing to address the fundamental issue of freedom for Palestinians. She highlighted the recent interception by Israel of humanitarian aid flotillas attempting to reach Gaza, condemning the detention of hundreds of activists as a violation of international law.

“The boats were captured, but the solidarity reached us,” Sara said, expressing gratitude to the participants in the flotillas. “They reminded us that we are not alone.”

She called on the world to continue supporting Gaza, emphasizing the need for more flotillas to break the ongoing siege. While acknowledging the failure of governments to address the situation, Sara expressed hope that future flotillas will reach Gaza’s shores, bringing true freedom to its residents.
