Tue Oct 07 14:58:18 UTC 2025: ## Hyderabad Man Sentenced to Life for Wife’s Murder Following Domestic Abuse
**HYDERABAD, October 7, 2025** – A 46-year-old man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife after a court in Kukatpally found him guilty of murder, theft, and domestic abuse. Santosh Kulbe, a resident of Moosapet, was convicted in the death of his wife, Surekha, stemming from a violent domestic dispute that occurred on May 14, 2022.
According to court documents, Kulbe returned home intoxicated on the evening of the incident and physically assaulted his wife. Surekha was subsequently rushed to Gandhi Hospital, where she died on May 19, 2022, due to the injuries sustained during the attack.
In addition to the murder charge, Kulbe was also accused of stealing gold ornaments from Surekha during the assault.
The Kukatpally police station registered the case under Sections 498(A) (domestic cruelty), 302 (murder), and 382 (theft) of the Indian Penal Code. Inspector P. Narsing Rao led the investigation, which successfully gathered enough evidence to secure a conviction.
During the trial, Public Prosecutor G.V. Rama Krishna Rao presented witnesses and material evidence to the court. Judge M. Venkateshwara Rao, after carefully reviewing the case, delivered the judgment on Tuesday, sentencing Kulbe to life imprisonment for the murder by strangulation. He also received five years’ rigorous imprisonment for theft and one year’s rigorous imprisonment for domestic cruelty, along with a fine of ₹1,000 for each of these offenses.
