According to railway officials, the intensified ticket checks resulted in the detection of 85,225 cases of ticketless travel, leading to the collection of ₹7.28 crore in penalties. This represents a 7.9% increase in detected cases and a 15.9% jump in penalty revenue compared to April-September 2024, when 79,006 cases were recorded, and ₹6.28 crore was collected.
The railway division also reported a rise in cases of irregular travel, with 79,339 instances detected and ₹4.58 crore collected in penalties. This signifies a 15.5% increase in detected cases and a 23.5% increase in penalty revenue compared to the previous year.
