**Tamil Nadu Government Provides Solatium to Karur Stampede Victims’ Families**
**Salem, India – October 2, 2025 -** Tourism Minister R. Rajendran distributed government-provided compensation to the families of victims who died in the tragic stampede at the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) rally in Karur last week. The incident, which occurred on September 27th, resulted in the deaths of 41 people, including two residents of the Salem district.
The government had previously announced a solatium of ₹10 lakh for each family of the deceased. Minister Rajendran, accompanied by Salem District Collector R. Brindha Devi, MPs T.M. Selvaganapathi and S.R. Sivalingam, and other officials, personally handed over the compensation to the families of Anand, from Sukkampatti, and Srinath, from Puduchampalli near Mettur.
