Sat Sep 27 23:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Georgia Fans Unfazed by Beck Departure: Stockton Proving a Perfect Fit

**Athens, GA** – While former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is garnering Heisman buzz at Miami, leading the Hurricanes to a 4-0 start, sources inside the Bulldogs program suggest they aren’t lamenting his departure. Beck, who surprisingly entered the transfer portal after initially declaring for the NFL Draft, left Georgia for a reported $3 million-plus NIL deal.

Despite Beck’s talent, Georgia has found success with sophomore quarterback Gunner Stockton. Through three games, Stockton has impressed with 721 passing yards, four touchdowns, and a 70.8% completion rate. He currently ranks fifth nationally in QBR, ahead of Beck (16th). Notably, Stockton has yet to throw an interception, a stark contrast to Beck’s 12 interceptions last season.

“It’s far too simple to say Georgia traded a Lamborghini (Beck’s car of choice) for a Ford F-150 (what Stockton drives),” the CBS Sports article noted. “But that’s the spiritual exchange with the Bulldogs losing a high-end NFL Draft talent for a steadier, cheaper and arguably more reliable option.”

While Beck may possess superior arm talent, Stockton’s mobility has added a new dimension to the Georgia offense. He has already rushed for 124 yards this season, compared to Beck’s 71 all of last year.

Head Coach Kirby Smart lauded Stockton’s leadership and winning mentality. “He’s got winner written all over him,” Smart said. “He’s extremely respected by his teammates.”

While Beck finds success in Miami, Georgia believes Stockton’s fit within their program and his on-field performance have solidified their quarterback position. The Bulldogs face a tough test against Alabama this week, where Stockton will look to continue his impressive start to the season.
